Live and Let Lie

Honesty is apparently not the best policy anymore.

Most of the people watching even a wee bit of television (even if it’s news channels only) are aware of Sach ka Saamna, yes it is that brilliant rip-off of the show called ‘The Moment of Truth’ and yes it stars your mother’s favorite chocolate boy Rajeev Khandelwal as the host, where he asks his contensts who have volunteered to be there questions about their life, their personal life obviously. So yes, you tell the truth and you get paid for it. Sounds like a fair deal right? Well, no. And if you think so YOU SHOULD GO TO JAIL!

But seriously, the government is really eyeing this show and the members of the parliament (you know the place where people sit and throw furniture at each other?) have already brought up the idea of just going ahead and banning the show, because hey what did Gandhi say? He said “Telling the truth is a bad thing” right? And we listen to Gandhi right? He is the dude on our fucking currency right? OBVIOUSLY HE SAID SPEAKING THE TRUTH IS A BAD THING! HECK THAT’S WHAT EVERY RELIGION SAYS TOO! :)

I mean sure it has got some content which is not suitable for the Indian audiences as of yet (Seeing how immature they can get) but it’s a show wherein a person comes because he wants to get some ‘$’ for speaking the truth. Nobody takes the guy who is standing on the road and tells him to tell everybody watching the show about his sex life and how he thinks about somebody else while having sex with his wife. It’s a voluntary act done by an individual above the age of 18 (an adult). Now that guy knows that he is going to be asked such questions. Why would he come on the fucking show unless he really does want to tell the whole world that he has in fact kissed a guy and stripped naked in a public place?

And people are objecting to the sponsors too. What the fuck? iPill and condoms are bad things? Shouldn’t your kid know about what to fuck with and what to do if he/she makes a ‘boohoo’ you don’t have the balls to tell them such things. So how will they know? Oh yes, let’s get sex- ed! No wait, we don’t like that either, it is against our religion and our dharam. So how about we just wait until your kid knocks down his kid and we both kill them because they did a bad thing? :/

Also, the other shows on TV are way more vulgar than this shit, this is like tatti in front of all that, look at Splitsvilla, Roadies, South Indian songs and every K serial does have a rape victim/scene and has a lady who has married more then 20 times. Isn’t that a bad thing too? Why would you marry 20 fucking times? Wasn’t once enough to make you realize that this is not something you want?

Personally, I think the show should stay where it is, and well as the government and the Information and Broadcast Ministry really listens to my views on everything I think that this show is here to stay! Woohoo! Go Hindi version of Moment of Truth!

P.S – If this show does in fact gets canned, I think we should stop telling children that speaking the truth is a good thing. Why confuse those innocent little buggers, right? :/

Seriously why don’t we just all speak lies from now on? The govt. seems to be pretty good at speaking lies and making false accusations, the MP’s suck, they need young blood and better brains.

I am glad you brought light to this subject.

I agree, we need Rahul Gandhi as PM.

VOTE VOTE VOTE. But lookit, after 5 years even if he does want to become PM he’ll be old. :/

Maybe I should run in the next elections.

I disagree I think children should not be shown such television shows i dont mind the ads but the show is pretty vulgar for kids. They should shift the time to a bit later and this show should not be on prime time.

That is my view on it. Good post though.

Awesome stuff though i think we need to know where to speak the truth and where to lie.

    • July 26, 2009 at 1:07 pm | #34

You mean be diplomatic? But you can’t do that on a fucking game show where they give you a fucking lie detector now can you? That’s the whole point, speak the truth to earn money. It’s a great deal!

At the end of the day what I want from the government is that they can just stop with protecting us from the foreign culture. Humans know what’s good and bad for them. We have to grow up, sitting like little ducks in a pond and thinking that this is the world and we are the children isn’t going to help.
